Course Overview

In the second part of our E-Health course, participants engaged in a 7-hour session with healthcare leaders to explore practical solutions for system integration, medication safety, and improved patient care. Key topics included the role of e-prescribing in enhancing accuracy, the impact of EHRs on clinical decision-making, and the importance of secure Health Information Exchange (HIE).

We also examined Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS), focusing on real-time alerts, adherence to interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR, and streamlined workflows through EHR integration. Usability testing and structured data entry were highlighted as essential for efficient communication and better outcomes.
